Kris Lager Band, the Thrift Store Junkies from the heartland, play soul music and Boogie Trance. With their hot new album 'Swagadocious' these self-proclaimed 'Rock Revivalists' are quickly spreading their celebrate life mantra to the masses.

These hard working troubadours just recorded another album in San Francisco in April  produced by Kelly Finnegan, and Ian Anderson of The Monophonics.  Signed with a very reputable agency, The Jettison Agency, which has them booked at some of the hottest festivals and clubs in the country. Plus, they are set to release another studio album produced by Grammy Award winner Tab Benoit this summer called Platte River Runaway. Which they recorded in Louisiana at Tab's home studio, Whiskey Bayou Studios.

The Kris Lager Band has spent the better part of ten years on tour honing their sound, style, and message, including backing Mato Nanji, as Indigenous from 2007 to 2009. During that period they were featured on the Vanguard Records release Broken Lands produced by Jamie Candiloro (REM, Willie Nelson, Ryan Adams).
Their new album features recently departed blues legend Magic Slim on an impromptu off the cuff track, as well as a polished horn section on five of the cuts giving 'Swagadocious',  KLB's fifth studio album a unique and undeniably fresh vibe.
KLB is spearheaded by singer, guitarist, and songwriter Kris Lager, who rips out face melting solos and hypnotic riffs. Jeremiah Weir on keyboards and percussions is the perfect melodic counterpart and always brings the high holiness to the stage. The backbeat of the band is brought to you by freestyle extraordinaire John Fairchild, who has logged seven years with the group and is a tour de force on the kit. Brandon Miller rounds out the ensemble on bass with a solid low end that holds it all together and a high kick Chuck Norris would be proud of.

The nation's number one comedian Jeff Dunham and his beloved cast of characters announce the kick off of the winter leg of their 2013 "Disorderly Conduct" worldwide tour. The winter 2013/2014 international concert series begins on Dec. 26, 2013 in Toledo, OH and continues through Feb. 28, 2014 in Champaign. IL.

Fans all over the world can look forward to a new jam-packed show with more laughs than ever before. Dunham's famed troupe of sidekicks are back: Walter the Grumpy Retiree, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, the beer-fueled redneck Bubba J, the manic purple creature Peanut, the spicy pepper from south of the border José Jalapeño, and Peanut's own ventriloquist dummy Little Jeff, a mini-version of the ringmaster himself.

Dunham and his comedic sidekicks most recent Comedy Central one-hour special entitled "Minding the Monsters," is the fifth in a string of record-breaking specials. "Minding the Monsters" takes its audience into the ultimate haunted house where you can see Walter transform into something grumpier than he already is, watch Bubba J rise from the dead, meet Peanut's alter ego, The Purple Avenger of the Night, and his spicy sidekick, and witness Achmed literally dressed to kill in an outfit that would terrify the most terrifying terrorist! It debuted on Comedy Central to 7.5 million viewers, making it the most watched special of the year for the network. Upon its release on DVD, it was the #1 comedy DVD on Amazon.com and exceeded platinum sales within 6 days. It has already reached triple platinum status.

The amazing rise of Jeff Dunham continues apace, with 2013 having seen Jeff continue to pack arena-sized venues. Dunham and his sidekicks are preparing for their sixth trip to Europe this fall, stopping in the U.K., Germany, and Belgium.

In 2013, fans will also get the chance to see Achmed the Dead Terrorist like he's never been seen before! This December, Jeff Dunham will premiere his very first animated feature "Achmed Saves America," starring the world's most beloved, failed bad-guy!  In this full length animated movie, Achmed is having a very bad day... After accidentally blowing himself up, the world's most incompetent suicide bomber finds himself whisked away from his homeland by a giant bald eagle and dropped off in... Americaville, USA. There, mistaken by the kind-hearted Wilson family for a visiting French exchange student, "The Little Skeleton That Couldn't" bumblingly plots to destroy the town and all of its "infidels".  But, once he's exposed to the sweet things in life -- including all-you-can-eat buffets and frozen yogurt -- Achmed's campaign of hate turns into a patriotic All-American lovefest.

The phenomenal international success of Dunham and his cohorts have been driven by his Comedy Central specials, which set global records for both ratings and sales. Dunham's 4th Comedy Central TV special "Controlled Chaos," premiered to a staggering 8.3 million viewers overall making it the most viewed cable show that night. The global TV event enjoyed a never-before simultaneous same day worldwide debut in a dozen countries. Dunham continued to break ratings records at the end of 2011, when The Bio Channel's premiere of Jeff Dunham: "Birth of a Dummy" became the network's top rated telecast ever.

No wonder The New York Times Magazine declared Jeff Dunham "the most successful comedian working in America."  Dunham was recently named Pollstar's #1 Comedy Tour in North America for three years running as well as their Top Worldwide Tour for two years in a row.

Of course not but let's just say the next best thing to "The World's Greatest Rock-n-Roll Band" is coming to DeWitt. An exciting tribute show entitled "Satisfaction...an International Rolling Stones Show" that has been acclaimed as the most authentic cast and production show available honoring the World's Greatest Rock & Roll Band, is coming to the Central Performing Arts Center in DeWitt, Iowa!

Please see the attached news release and photo announcing their upcoming performance.

Satisfaction will be performing at the Central Performing Arts Center on October 19, 2013 at 7:30 pm. In addition, we will also be offering a limited number of Dinner and Performance tickets.

Chris LeGrand, lead singer as Mick Jagger, is available for interviews Monday September 30th, Tuesday October 1st, and Wednesday October 2nd, from 8 am to 5 pm EST at 866-215-3811 or 318-518-7820

Nova Singers, under the direction of Dr. Laura Lane, presents two performances of We Sing Life! The first one will be on Saturday, October 12 at 7:30pm at First Congregational Church in Moline, and the second one on Sunday, October 13 at 4:00pm in Kresge Recital Hall at Knox College in Galesburg.

We Sing Life! is a unique and uplifting program celebrating the strength of the human spirit and our ability to triumph over the challenges of life. From the darkness of Barber's Twelfth Night and To Be on the Water to Randall Thompson's timeless Alleluia, the audience will hear the full range of human emotion.

Dr. Lane talks about the program: "We Sing Life! is unlike any other program I have undertaken. I wanted to wrestle with the idea of the universal human struggle with adversity. Each of us has known dark times. How do we survive those periods? How do we climb our way out of those dark times into a place of joy? I wanted to take the singers and the audience from the depths of despair to the heights of confidence, faith, happiness and serenity... Spirituals play a major role in this concert. We can all relate to the loneliness of Motherless Child and Hard Trials, and the joy and energy of Walk Together Children and Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel are perfect for the end of the concert."

For the first time ever, we have invited local artists to paint to a piece of music. Nicholas Digioia of Moline and Julie Swanson Davis of Galesburg will paint while the Singers perform Thompson's Alleluia. The audience will watch the creation of a work of art, inspired by the voices of Nova Singers!

In addition, students from Davenport Central High School will join the Singers for two selections, as a part of our educational outreach program, Project Sing!

Nova Singers, a professional vocal ensemble under the direction of Dr. Laura Lane, hopes to share our musical soul with you.  Nova Singers is known for bringing a wide variety of choral music to its audiences, and for the beauty and charm the singers impart to their music.

Tickets will be available at the door. Admission is $18 for adults and $15 for seniors. Students are admitted free of charge.  For information about group rates, tickets, recordings, or other Nova Singers' events, call 309-341-7038, or e-mail nova@knox.edu. Please take the time to check out our website at www.novasingers.com!

Nova Singers' 2013-2014 season is partially funded by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council.
