Tuesday, February 05, 2008FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Rock Island, IL  Afro-American Heritage Center Announces First Annual Benefit  Members of the Afro-American Heritage Center, a 501 (c)3 organization founded in June of 2006, announces its first Annual Benefit, Saturday February 23, at 6:00 p.m. at the historic Watch Tower Lodge located at 1510 46^th avenue, Rock Island, Illinois. The office of the AAHC is located in Rock Island.

The Quad City Arts' Festival of Trees will have a ONE DAY ONLY clearance sale of assorted holiday decor and selected items from the Festival of Trees Gift Shop. Items will be available for sale at up to 50% off original prices on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 27th from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m.The sale will take place in the Atrium of the south building of the RiverCenter.  All proceeds from the sale benefit Quad City Arts.

The Quad City Association of Evangelical's (QCAE) annual "Night of Thanksgiving" will be held this Thursday, November 15th at 7:00 p.m. The service will be at Calvary Church of the Quad Cities, 4700 - 53rd Street in Moline. The church is about 3 blocks due south of John Deere Road on 53rd Street. Admission is free. QCAE President Steve Stephens said, "This is a night where all Christians in the area are invited to come for a night dedicated to praising and thanking God for His goodness and many blessings. The service will blend great praise and worship music with prayers of thanksgiving. Pastors and leaders from area churches will lead us in prayers to remind us how God has been so good in every area of our lives."

It is now that time of year again... a chill in the air, falling leaves, a harvest moon, and screaming off in the distance. The tormented souls of "Torment at Twelve Hundred" roam once again.  This October will be the fourth season of 'Torment'.  Steve and Nancy Patterson have taken "Torment at Twelve Hundred" in Orion, Illinois to a new level this year.  With seven new rooms, revamped rooms, added scares and new characters, 'Torment' will ultimately scare the yell out of you.  In addition to the new scares, 'Torment' has joined with "Wheels of Freedom", a non for profit organization that raises money for the American War Veterans.  By doing so a portion of the ticket sales goes to this worthy cause.  'Torment' still has there non for profit concession stand, which will quench your thirst and fill your belly from all the screaming.

"Torment at Twelve Hundred" opens it gates October 5^th.  They are open every weekend in October including Halloween night.  Hours are from 7pm - 12pm Friday and Saturday, 7pm - 10pm Sunday and Halloween night.  Because of the trail through the woods, recommended footwear, no open toed shoes or high heels.  It is also recommend you be 13 years and older to enter the 'Torment'.
