ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 3, 2019) — The Quad City Botanical Center is hosting Chocolate Experience 04/06. 

It’s a family-friendly event for all ages with free chocolate samples, products for sale for Easter and Mother’s Day gift-giving, and hands-on activities for kids and adults.

Local and regional chocolatiers, sweet-treat shops, a brewery, and non-edible chocolate vendors will be offering free samples and sharing their chocolate knowledge.

WASHINGTON DC (April 2, 2019) — A new study released by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) finds greenhouse-gas emissions from corn-based ethanol are about 39 percent lower than gasoline. The study also states that when ethanol is refined at natural gas-powered refineries, the greenhouse-gas emissions are even lower, around 43 percent below gasoline.

The public is invited to shop the weekend sale and pre-order by April 20. Pre-orders can be picked up May 10-11 during the sale.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (March 27, 2019) — Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF), founded a century ago on the premise of helping rural Iowans weather the challenges of farming, is donating $35,000 for flood-relief efforts to help manage the immediate needs of Missouri River flood-victims. The donation includes $20,000 to the Red Cross and $15,000 to the Nebraska Farm Bureau Disaster Fund.
