Robert Zeidler artwork in the Bereskin Gallery & Art Academy Holiday Open House -- December 1.

Friday, December 1, 6 – 9 p.m.

Beréskin Gallery & Art Academy, 2967 State Street, Bettendorf IA

Art on display and art in creation will be on hand in the Beréskin Gallery & Art Academy's Holiday Open House on December 1, with guests invited to both view the venue's Art Meets the River exhibit and purchase the 2018 fundraising calendar boasting samples of its inclusions.

An area-centric exhibition featuring works inspired by the Mississippi River, Art Meets the River finds local artists Brad Bisbey, Heidi Brandt, Dee Schricker, Robert Zeidler, and gallery owner Pat Beréskin contemplating the Mighty Miss through their mediums of choice. “Many local artists use our environment as inspiration,” says project coordinator and Brandt, “so it seemed fitting to represent different art mediums in the project." With the exhibit on display through January 19, a number of its pieces are also showcased in the 2018 Art Meets the River calendar, proceeds from which will benefit River Action. Adds Brandt, “I would like to inspire the community to create and purchase local art and to be good stewards of the environment.”

The venue's Holiday Open House will also enable guests to watch as Beréskin Gallery artisans create new works, as well as visit with class instructors (one-night-only discounts on select classes will be available), enjoy refreshments, and shop for seasonal-gift items including jewelry, pottery, paintings and sculpture.

Representing 15 full time artists along with rotating guest-artist exhibits, the Beréskin Gallery & Art Academy offers classes for all ages and skill levels through the gallery and Mrs. B's School of Art. The venue's goal is to provide the community a warm and friendly environment conducive to collaboration and learning about art.

The Beréskin Gallery & Art Academy Holiday Open House runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on December 1, admission is free, and more information is available by calling (563)508-4630 or visiting BereskinArtGallery.com.
