Works by an incredible assemblage of more than two dozen Midwestern artists will be on local display from November 2 through January 2, with the aptly titled Regional Art Show on display at Bettendorf's Beréskin Gallery & Art Academy and showcasing pieces, for viewing and for sale, in mediums including jewelry, sculpture, raku, ceramic, oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, print making, mixed medium, and collage.
Among the artists presenting their works, Jean Johnson's piece on the I74 Bridge is being used as the model for special “Bettendorf Christmas” ornaments that will be on sale in many of the city's businesses, with those who donate to Bettendorf's Angel Tree Fund receiving a free ornament for participating. In addition, Regional Art Show talent Dave Anderson's painting “Morning Ride” was accepted into the prestigious Eastern Regional Oil Painters of America Exhibition. “I’m really proud to showcase the work of some of the area’s most talented artists,” says gallery owner Pat Beréskin. “The variety of art mediums and styles offer endless decorating and gift-giving options.”
Beyond Johnson, Anderson, and Beréskin herself, participating artists in the Regional Art Show include: Annis Bear (works in glow); Les Bell (oil); Bonnie Bishop (golden acrylics); Brad Bisbey (acrylic); Marinn Cisna (oil); Karen Cooper (oil); Deborah Doehler (acrylic); Iyla Ferguson (pastel); Victoria Fosmo (watercolor and gouache); Pat Halverson (oil); Rebecca Jayne Hennessey (oil); Pamela Hiatt (oil); Paige Jackson (pastel); Mary Nagel Klein (cassein); Grace Martin (acrylic); Rose Moore (pastel); Gabby Schadt (oil); Lisa Walden (oil); Ann Williams (oil); Sandy Winborn (pen and ink); and Camielle Wood (photography).
A 5:30 p.m. artist reception will be held at the Beréskin Gallery & Art Academy on November 2, and regular gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays.
