Times Square by Pat Beréskin

Opening Reception Friday, September 8, Exhibit Open Tuesday, August 29, through Saturday, October 21

Beréskin Gallery & Art Academy, 2967 State Street, Bettendorf IA

In celebration of its new location on State Street, the Quad Cities venue will present an exhibition of the newest paintings Solon, Iowa-based artist Jeff Allen and gallery owner Pat Beréskin.

Allen is the founder of the Plein Air Painters of Iowa, a group that gathers weekly to capture picturesque Iowa locales on canvas. Drawing his inspiration from the landscape, Allen's “Skylines” series finds the artist working in oil paint on fine-quality linen with the employment of brushes and pallet knives. Beréskin, who also serves as one of her gallery's art instructors, presents unique views of the architecture of well-known cities in her “City Lights” series, with its images from the U.S. and abroad capturing the artist's take on metropolitan locales including New York, Chicago, Paris, and the Quad Cities.

Fall at Ciha Fen by Jeff Allen

The Beréskin Gallery & Art Academy's Skylines & City Lights exhibit will also feature paintings from artists who participated in the venue's “Plein Air Paint Out” event held last month in downtown Davenport. An opening reception will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 8, and more information on the exhibit and reception is available by calling (563)508-4630 or visiting BereskinArtGallery.com.
