12th UD President Travis Frampton as part of “Stewards of Our Story: A Legacy of Leadership at the University of Dubuque" at the Bisignano Gallery -- through October 31.

Through Friday, October 31

University of Dubuque's Bisignano Art Gallery, 2255 Bennett Street, Dubuque IA

Featuring presidential portraits and an array of images showcasing the University of Dubuque's evolving campus, all reminders of the rich tradition and enduring mission that continue to shape UD today, Stewards of Our Story: A Legacy of Leadership at the University of Dubuque will be on display in the university's Bisignano Art Gallery through October 31, the exhibit and its opening reception aptly timed for the 2025 Homecoming celebration.

Since 1852, the University of Dubuque has been guided by leaders devoted to preserving its rich history and boldly shaping its future. Stewards of Our Story: A Legacy of Leadership at the University of Dubuque honors the previous 11 presidents and other leaders who have faithfully served as stewards of UD’s story. Each has left their mark on the life of UD’s campus, its people, and generations of students who call it home. UD’s 12th president, Travis L. Frampton, PhD, will also be featured.

“It is a privilege to stand on the foundation built by those who came before, and to help write the next chapter in the story of the University of Dubuque – one rooted in vision, care, and unwavering commitment to preparing students to live lives of purpose and service,” Frampton said. “This display invites us to reflect on where we’ve been, celebrate where we are, and embrace the momentum that is carrying our university courageously into the future.”

“To my knowledge, an exhibit covering the entirety of our University presidential history has not been done at the University of Dubuque," said Noah Bullock, coordinator of the art gallery. "Guests will see materials and photos never before seen outside the archives or in the library. Also, many photos will be reminiscent and bring back a lot of great UD memories. It has been an honor to curate this show. UD has, and always will be, my home.” Bullock’s father, Rev. Jeffrey F. Bullock, PhD, was UD’s 11th – and longest serving – president.

Stewards of Our Story: A Legacy of Leadership at the University of Dubuque,  will be on display through October 31, with regular gallery hours noon to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Admission is free, and more information is available by calling (563)589-3267 and visiting Dbq.edu.
