Exhibit: Friday, December 6, through Friday, January 31

Opening Reception: Friday, December 6, 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Voices Studio, 1585 Central Avenue, Dubuque IA

An evocative combination of two art exhibits will be on display in the Joan Mulgrew Gallery of Dubuque's Voices Studio from December 6 through January 31, with Tim Olson & Lisa Olson inviting guests to experience the unique perspectives of two artists whose journeys are rooted in deep personal reflection, family, and a dedication to their creativity.

Tim Olson, a native of Marathon, Iowa, brings a rich background in photography and painting to this exhibit. His artistic education spans Bemidji State University, the University of Iowa, and Loras College, where he honed his skills across multiple disciplines. With a career beginning in Chicago's photography studios as a printer and technician, Tim has developed a multifaceted approach to visual art that includes photographs, paintings, prints, and stained glass. His works have been widely exhibited across the United States, with notable recent showings at the La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles and the Sioux City Art Center. His talent has also been recognized in prestigious publications, such as New American Paintings, and he was named an Iowa Artist Fellow in 2022. Tim currently resides in Dubuque with his wife and two children, where he continues to explore new avenues in art.

"Siren"

Lena Olson has been immersed in creativity since she was a toddler, growing up surrounded by art and encouraged to explore her own voice. Developing her skills from a young age, Lena has formed a distinctive style that blends her father’s influence with her own modern perspectives and experimental approach. Her pieces reflect a natural curiosity and an impressive depth, capturing vivid emotions and snapshots of everyday life through a youthful yet sophisticated lens. This exhibit marks an important milestone for Lena as she shares her latest creations with the public and embarks on her own journey as a professional artist.

An opening reception for Tim Olson & Lisa Olson will take place on December 6 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., with refreshments provided and guests invited to meet the artists. The exhibit itself will be on display through January 31, and more information is available by visiting VoicesStudios.org.
