MOLINE, ILLINOIS (April 30, 2021) — Solar energy is coming to the Quad Cities International Airport. Solar panels affixed to the terminal roof and a new carport structure will provide a clean, renewable energy-source for the airport, and a covered parking-option for nearly 200 spots in the short-term lot. Two additional electric-vehicle charging-stations will be added to the existing three once the project is completed.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (April 21, 2021) — March 2021 was the Quad Cities International Airport’s busiest month since early 2020. Restored routes and additional spring break service gave the QC Airport a boost of nearly 12,000 passengers from the previous month. This improved traffic to a 46% decline over 2019, compared to the 56-60% decline that has been the norm for the past several months.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (February 17, 2021) — Quad City International Airport is getting a $2.8 million boost from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Coronavirus Response Grant Program. The program, funded under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2020 (CRRSA), awarded $2 billion total to US airports. This funding will continue to offset lost revenue and provide operational and payroll support.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (December 10, 2019) — Each year, Augustana College athletes are selected by their head coaches to attend an athletic leadership program during the fall semester. These athletes have demonstrated leadership qualities already in their respective sports, and have the ability to learn and refine their skills through the program.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (August 12, 2019) — Augustana College student Justin Verlinden of East Moline, Illinois, completed a presitigous research internship at the Baylor College of Medicine. He took part in testing novel brain-imaging methods as part of a larger Alzheimer's Disease research project taking place in the lab.

Verlinden, who is majoring in neuroscience and biology, will be a senior this fall.

Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 18, 2019) — The "Excellence in the Liberal Arts Award" has been generously gifted by Professor Dan Lee of the Religion Department, and his wife, Ruth Lee. The purpose of this award is to reward excellence in the liberal arts, including student academic-achievement, amount of scholarly work done in the liberal-arts including the humanities, achievement in co-curricular programs, and leadership and service both on and off-campus.

ROCK ISLAND, IL (February 18, 2019) — Coach David Thompson's Augustana cross country squad has earned All-Academic team honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The USTFCCCA announced its All-Academic teams and individuals on Thursday. The Vikings were recognized for having a cumulative grade point average of 3.56 across their entire roster.
