The governor and Iowa Department of Education Director Ryan Wise will stop in the Emmetsburg Community School District Tuesday afternoon. Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg will join the tour Wednesday for stops in the Forest City, Central Springs and Garner-Hayfield-Ventura community school districts.

(DES MOINES) – Beginning January 1, Iowa employers will see unemployment insurance taxes decrease an average of 25% on 2018 wages. The decrease is a result of the strength of the unemployment insurance trust fund, unemployment contributory wages and target levels of the unemployment insurance contributory wages. Yearly rates are determined by a formula.

(DES MOINES) – The Iowa Governor’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Advisory Council on Friday announced its new co-chair will be Roger Hargens, President and CEO of Accumold in Ankeny. He will serve in the role alongside Gov. Kim Reynolds.

Hargens will succeed Dr. Chris Nelson, President and CEO of Kemin Industries. Dr. Nelson will complete his two-year term as STEM Council co-chair in August.
