(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds thanked Alliant Energy Thursday after the company announced its plans for another major wind investment.

“Iowa is a renewable energy powerhouse because of companies like Alliant Energy plugging into our state.

“Today’s announcement, coupled with the company’s expansion proposal last year, represents a $1.8 billion investment in Iowa. I am thrilled Alliant wants to recharge our economy and help power growth.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds testified before the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Tuesday morning on behalf of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). Below are her remarks, as prepared for delivery:

“Good morning. Thank you for the opportunity to speak today on behalf of all Iowans regarding the importance of a strong Renewable Fuel Standard or RFS.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds and Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg called on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to raise the 2019 biodiesel volume requirements in the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) Wednesday morning at their administration’s weekly press conference.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds announced a new cyber training partnership between the SANS (SysAdmin, Audit, Network and Security) Institute and the State of Iowa on Monday.

High school juniors, seniors, community college and college students are encouraged to participate in CyberStart, an online game of discovery, and compete against students in six other states for $650,000 in scholarships.

Twelve counties now included in disaster proclamation for recent severe weather

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation Tuesday for Chickasaw, Dubuque, Floyd and Kossuth counties in response to severe weather, heavy rains and flash flooding on July 21-22.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation Saturday for Bremer, Buchanan, Clinton and Johnson counties in response to severe storms, heavy rains and flash flooding on July 21-22.

The governor’s proclamation allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of this severe weather.

The proclamation also activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Program for qualifying residents of the four counties.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds was named to the National Governors Association (NGA) Executive Committee Tuesday. She was selected by her fellow governors at the NGA meeting in Providence, Rhode Island, last week.
