AMES, IOWA (May 22, 2019) — Students earned scholarships and awards for outstanding work at The Fashion Show 2019 at Iowa State University.

Lauren Latham from Eldridge, who is studying apparel, merchandising, and design, took third-place in the fashion-illustration category at the show.

Kamber Causemaker from Geneseo, who is studying apparel, merchandising, and design, took first-place in the functional-design and uniforms category at the show.

AMES, IOWA (05/21/2019) — The Iowa State University Department of Kinesiology honored outstanding students with awards and scholarships at a reception on April 26 in Ames. The students were recognized for excellence in the areas of kinesiology, athletic training, and dance.

Elizabeth Fennelly, from Davenport, who is studying kinesiology and health, was recognized with the Winifred Tilden High Scholar Award for highest GPA based on fall grades in the undergraduate student category.

AMES, IOWA (May 13, 2019) — Carly Grimm, an Iowa State University apparel, merchandising, and design major from Bettendorf, took first place in the Best of Show Consulting Project for an Existing Business category at the College of Human Sciences 2019 Entrepreneurship Showcase, May 3 in LeBaron Hall on the ISU campus.

Grimm's consulting group focused on enhancing Beek Street Antiques and Collectibles' brand and financial performance.

AMES, IOWA (May 2, 2019) — Chase Weida, an Iowa State University Mathematics major from Eldridge, Iowa, was one of 24 students from Iowa State's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences who recently displayed research at the annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research, hosted by Kennesaw State University in Georgia.

AMES, IOWA (April 25, 2019) — Amber Schmidt, an event-management major in the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences from DeWitt, has been initiated into the Kappa Omicron Nu National Honor Society for the Human Sciences.

 

AMES, IOWA (April 22, 2019) — Maria Duran Sanchez has been selected to serve as a 2019 Cyclone Aide for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University. Duran Sanchez is a Open Option (LAS) major from Davenport, IA (52803).

Cyclone Aides, a program coordinated by Iowa State University's Office of New Student Programs, are undergraduate student-leaders employed to assist with Orientation and Destination Iowa State throughout the year.

 

AMES, IOWA (March 28, 2019) — Olivia Gasper of Bettendorf, Iowa, has been named to the cast and creative team for ISU Theatre's spring 2019 musical "Godspell."
