Des Moines University (DMU) Occupational Therapy Degree (OTD) Program Earns Accreditation from Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (December 23, 2025) — The Doctor of Occupational Therapy program at Des Moines University (DMU) Medicine and Health Sciences has received accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).

The accreditation, which follows a comprehensive self-study and site visit, allows graduates of the program to sit for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy exam and pursue licensure.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (December 3, 2025) — High-school students curious about a career in health-care can now register for Des Moines University (DMU) Medicine and Health Sciences' Mini Medical School.

The program, offered at no cost, is held on Tuesday evenings in February 2026, 6-7:30PM, at DMU's campus, 8025 Grand Ave, West Des Moines.

Des Moines University (DMU) Faculty Win American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) Compassionate Community Grants

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (November 12, 2025) — Three faculty members from Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences were awarded the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine inaugural Compassionate Community Grant.

The grant program, launched in connection with the Educating Leaders 2025 Friday Forum, provides small grants ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 to pre-accredited and accredited Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine to spark actionable culture change.
