DAVENPORT, IOWA (January 7, 2020) — Gilda’s Club Quad Cities will host a free workshop for people affected by cancer entitled "Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Metastatic Breast Cancer." The program will explore metastatic breast-cancer treatment, side-effect management, and psychosocial aspects of the illness. This free workshop will take place on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, 5:30-7:30PM, at Gilda’s Club Quad Cities (1234 E River Drive).

GENESEO, ILLINOIS (July 1, 2019) — Gilda’s Club is hosting a FREE healthy living workshop for families impacted by cancer on Monday, July 15, 2019, 5:30-7PM, at Hammond Henry Hospital Conference Room 1AB (600 N College Ave, Geneseo, IL).

Families impacted by cancer are invited to try chair yoga and learn to make a healthy snack. Led by Kelly Craft, a certified chair yoga instructor, chair yoga takes traditional mat poses and adapts them to the chair.

DAVENPORT, IA - DECEMBER  2015 - Gilda's Club and UnityPoint Trinity are partnering to present a special dinner for head and neck cancer patients on Monday, December 7th at 5:30 pm.

According to the American Cancer Society, head and neck cancer accounts for about 3% of all cancers in the United States. Head and neck cancer patients, anyone experience treatment related eating difficulties and their family members are invited to this free dinner, prepared by Chef Kevin Vargas.

Cancer Transitions™ is a free 2 hour, six-week workshop designed to help cancer survivors make the transition from active treatment to post-treatment care. Expert panelists include an oncology nurse navigator, registered dietitian and certified cancer exercise specialist. The weekly sessions will include exercise tailored to each participant's abilities, training in relaxation and stress management, tips for nutritious eating and group discussion. Medical management of cancer will be facilitated by Judy Howell, Oncology Nurse Navigator from UnityPoint Health.
