Hospitality Employee of the Year

Whitney Jensen, the Front Desk Supervisor at Hotel Blackhawk (and previously at Hotel Blackhawk’s sister hotel, The Current Iowa) was awarded the 2018 Spirit of Hospitality Employee of the Year Award from the Iowa Lodging Association in Des Moines this past weekend.

With associate’s like Whitney, it is clear to see why Hotel Blackhawk (part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection Hotels) is the #1 rated hotel in Iowa by U.S. News & World Report.

The Current Iowa is hosting 1st Annual Red, White and Boom Party

UP, at The Current Iowa is presenting a Red - White and Boom Party on Tuesday, July 3rd from 6 to 10 pm.

It promises to be the “hottest ticket” in town.

Tickets will be limited so that every guest can come outside on the rooftop sky deck to view the fireworks.

It will also allow room for those who want to come inside to cool off, etc.

Amy & Amrit Gill (developers who own and manage the award-winning Hotel Blackhawk, Davenport Iowa) plan to open a new luxury/boutique hotel, called The Current, Iowa. The 1910 historic Putnam Building in downtown Davenport, is being renovated into a 78 Room Luxury Boutique Hotel. The Current will proudly fly Marriott’s Autograph Collection Hotel, the same flag that the Hotel Blackhawk flies.
