DES MOINES, IOWA (December 3, 2020) The number of initial unemployment claims in Iowa, filed between Sunday, November 22, and Saturday, November 28, was 5,593, a decrease of 3,337 from last week’s adjusted numbers.

DES MOINES, IOWA (November 25, 2020) The number of initial unemployment claims in Iowa, filed between Sunday, November 15, and Saturday, November 21, was 9,458, an increase of 3,466 from last week’s adjusted numbers.

DES MOINES, IOWA (November 20, 2020) — Iowa’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 3.6 percent in October. The state’s jobless rate was 2.8 percent one year ago. The US unemployment rate fell to 6.9 percent in October.

DES MOINES, IOWA (November 19, 2020) The number of initial unemployment claims in Iowa, filed between Sunday, November 8, and Saturday, November 14, was 6,312, an increase of 1,095 from last week’s adjusted numbers. There were 5,784 initial claims by individuals who work and live in Iowa, and 528 claims by individuals who work in Iowa and live in another state.

DES MOINES, IOWA (November 12, 2020) The number of initial claims in Iowa, filed between Sunday, November 1, and Saturday, November 7, was 5,576, an increase of 967.

DES MOINES, IOWA (November 4, 2020) The Iowa Workforce Development announced the Carroll IowaWORKS office will relocate to a new facility at 504 Hwy 39 North in Denison. The Denison IowaWORKS center will officially open on January 2, 2021.

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 29, 2020) The number of initial claims in Iowa, filed between Sunday, October 18, and Saturday, October 24, was 4,791.

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 23, 2020) Due to Iowa's economic recovery, the US Department of Labor has notified Iowa that it has "triggered off" of the unemployment Extended Benefits (EB) program, making Iowans no longer eligible for the program. This means Iowa's insured unemployment rate has averaged below 5% for the last 13 weeks.
