DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 9, 2019) — The Quad Cities Chamber, in collaboration with the City of Davenport, will host a free educational luncheon and seminar regarding the new Opportunity Zone federal tax-incentive from noon to 1PM, Wednesday, August 28, at Me and Billy, 200 W 3rd Street in Davenport. The seminar will feature Kyle Day, attorney with Lane and Waterman,LLP, who will present on how to harness this unique new incentive and maximize its impact.

EAST MOLINE, ILLINOIS (August 7, 2019) — The Quad Cities Chamber will host its Annual Celebration, presented by TBK Bank, starting at 4PM on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at The Rust Belt, 533 12th Avenue, East Moline.

This new version of the Chamber’s annual meeting will highlight the Chamber’s accomplishments and what to expect in the coming year. It will also feature live music, food tastings and local breweries.

 

ALEXANDRIA, PENNSYLVANIA (July 24, 2019) — Paul Rumler has been awarded the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives 2019 40 Under 40 award. Paul Rumler currently serves as President and CEO of the Quad Cities Chamber, where he joined the team in April 2018.

Any Quad Cities Chamber members are encouraged to apply for the Business of the Year award. To apply, please submit information on how the Chamber-member business is addressing any of the factors listed below that apply. Not all criteria listed below need to be met.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (July 23, 2019) — The Downtown Davenport Partnership (DDP) annual meeting was held on Tuesday highlighting 2018-2019 downtown growth, flood-relief grant-funding, and a look toward the future of downtown development.

QUAD CITIES (February 7, 2019) — Today, the Illinois State Senate voted to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. The bill increased the state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2025 and $13 an hour for those under 18 by 2025. The total vote was 39-18. The Quad Cities Chamber worked closely with Senator Neil Anderson to secure his “no” vote.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (February 5, 2019) — The Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce joined other business groups throughout the state of Illinois in opposition to raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, over the next 4 years. The current minimum wage in Illinois is $8.25 per hour. The bill is expected to be heard in a Senate committee this week.

QUAD CITIES (January 29, 2019) — A competitive business climate, support for economic growth, and investment in infrastructure, education, and workforce top the list of issues the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce will push with legislators in 2019.

United Way’s Fall Day of Caring is Thursday, September 20, 2018 when 1,500 people will volunteer at 75 projects throughout the Quad Cities. Projects include: reading to children, organizing a donation center, manning a mobile food pantry, revitalizing a playground, landscaping, and much more.
