DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 3, 2023) — The Putnam Museum is excited to announce that for the first time ever we will be hosting a Volunteer Open House on October 12, 6-8PM. The open house will be an opportunity for individuals interested in volunteering, becoming a docent, or completing an internship with us at the museum. Attendees will have the opportunity to get information about what would be expected of them as well as what kinds of opportunities we have.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (June 9, 2023) — The Putnam Museum and Science Center will welcome Dino Days back for the first time since 2019. This event will be a weekend full of paleontology fun that visitors of all ages will enjoy. As a specially ticketed event, Dino Day guests will have exclusive access to the Putnam Dino Park and the rest of the museum. The Putnam Dino Park will have many dinosaur-themed activities, including face-painting, a museum scavenger hunt, 

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 12, 2023) — The Putnam Museum and Science Center is excited to welcome Dr Marcus Eriksen and the traveling exhibit JUNKraft. This exhibit examines the issue of global plastic pollution within our oceans. More than 171 trillion pieces of plastic can be found floating on the surface of the ocean. Over 1,200 species worldwide are affected by plastic pollution through ingestion and entanglement.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 15, 2023) — The Putnam Museum and Science Center is thrilled to open the much-anticipated updated regional-history exhibit, Common Ground: Our Voice, Our Stories. Partners, stakeholders, and members of the media are invited to the Putnam to experience the brand-new, permanent exhibit, which highlights the past, present, and future of the Quad Cities and its citizens.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (January 31, 2023) — The Putnam Museum and Science Center is thrilled to host the Smithsonian traveling exhibition Narwhals: Revealing an Arctic Legend. From their depiction in the 1500s as angry sea monsters to their status as icons of pop culture today, the narwhal, with its unique spiral tusk, has inspired legend in Inuit and European society and fascinated people across cultures for centuries.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (November 16, 2022) — The Putnam Museum and Science Center’s is thrilled to bring back KEVA planks, this time with a fun, winter-time twist! The exhibit, which initially ran throughout the summer, introduces visitors of all ages to problem-solving and abstract-thinking, using mathematics, physics, and design with fun, simple building materials. Build!
