DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 3, 2023) — The Putnam Museum is excited to announce that for the first time ever we will be hosting a Volunteer Open House on October 12, 6-8PM. The open house will be an opportunity for individuals interested in volunteering, becoming a docent, or completing an internship with us at the museum. Attendees will have the opportunity to get information about what would be expected of them as well as what kinds of opportunities we have. For those interested in volunteering as a docent, you will learn about the training course, schedule, and benefits of the program. We hope that this event will allow people who are looking to make a difference in their community, to easily find the right volunteer opportunity for them. Students who need a certain number of community-service hours for school or extracurricular programs will be able to come and sign up to volunteer at events in advance and will know exactly how many hours they will get from volunteering with us.
All are welcome to come to this event regardless of how much time they have on their hands. Volunteers of all ages and abilities will be able to find the perfect volunteer situation for them at this event, with the help of our knowledgeable staff. The Putnam Museum relies on and appreciates volunteers who help with a variety of tasks including but not limited to collections, event support, gallery attendants, docents, and more.
