COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (May 16, 2019) —While Niabi continues to bring conservationists from around the world to share the plight of species and habitats in peril, they also turn to experts in the Quad Cities to recognize their conservation work.
One of the zoos oldest residents, Molly, a 35-year-old female Plains Zebra, was euthanized on Monday due to chronic joint and bone issues brought on by her advanced age. The animal was under extensive veterinary care that included chronic pain management for the last two years.
Speakers include scientists in zoology, conservation, veterinarian medicine, ecology and animal behavior.
COAL VALLEY, Ill. (Feb. 8, 2018) – Niabi Zoo announced today the launch of a new series of lectures on conservation, ecology, biology and zoology. The series will continue throughout the year, and the first three lectures will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 21 and March 1 at the Niabi Zoo educational center.
