COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (April 17, 2023) — Niabi Zoo will reopen on April 17, and what a year it’s going to be!

New amenities like improved food services, and the exciting and fun “Scooter Pals” vehicles will make the fun just that much wilder! We are especially excited to be able to announce our partnership with Kulture City. This amazing organization is working with Niabi to create an inclusive, enjoyable experience for all of our guests regardless of their sensory needs.

Prairie Dogs

You will also see two exciting new exhibits taking shape right before your very eyes as we create new state of the art habitats for African Painted Dogs, and Prairies Dogs, both opening later this season! We will also be remodeling and modernizing our Big Cat and Bald Eagle exhibits! “There is always something new to experience and explore at the Niabi Zoo”, says Zoo Director Lee Jackson.” The hard work, planning, and most of all, the amazing generosity of our wonderful community has created a facility that everyone can be proud of.”

“We can’t wait to welcome the Quad Cities community back to the zoo for what’s shaping up to be the most exciting season yet,” said Jackson.
