WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (September 30, 2022) — The Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) and its divisions, the Iowa Center for Assisted Living (ICAL) and the Iowa Center for Home Care (ICHC), announced their 2022-2023 board officers and directors elected during the association's state convention in Des Moines this week.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (August 4, 2022) The Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) Foundation has announced the winners of its 2022 health-care scholarship programs. This year, the IHCA Foundation awarded 78 scholarships totaling over $105,000 to assist Iowans who want to advance their health-care education and work in long-term care.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (March 5, 2021) The Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) Foundation is offering 75 scholarships, totaling $167,500 to help individuals interested in pursuing or advancing their career in long-term care. This is up from 33 scholarships offered last year. Scholarship opportunities are available for current long-term care employees, veterans and high school students.

DES MOINES, IOWA (December 23, 2020) Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced yesterday that the COVID-19 vaccination program for long-term care (LTC) is on track to begin December 28. The program will run over the next few months through a partnership with three federally-approved pharmacies. These pharmacies will administer the two-dose vaccine to residents and staff at Iowa's nursing facilities and affiliated assisted-living communities.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (December 16, 2020) Iowa nursing facility staff and residents will see first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine arriving as soon as December 28, now that the US Food and Drug Administration has approved Pfizer's request for emergency-use authorization (EUA) and vaccine shipments are arriving in Iowa. However, that does not mean it is yet safe to visit loved ones in Iowa nursing homes this holiday season.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (June 10, 2020) The Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) Foundation has launched a new crisis-relief fund to support Iowa's senior health-care workers in preventing and mitigating the spread of COVID-19.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (May 7, 2020) — The application deadline for the Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) Foundation's scholarship program is fast approaching. Applications are due by May 31 to be considered for one of these scholarships.

Approximately 36 scholarships totaling $54,000 will be awarded this year. In addition, the IHCA Foundation is offering $9,000 in sign-on and retention bonuses for eligible scholarship recipients.

IOWA FALLS, IOWA (April 3, 2020) — The Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) recognizes Iowa trade associations who are encouraging businesses that may have excess personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies — face masks, gloves. and gowns — to donate or sell those supplies to Iowa's long-term care providers. IHCA works with nursing facilities, assisted-living communities, and home health agencies that care for the state's elderly and most vulnerable residents.
