Two current SCC Auto Technology students, Randi Lawson (Davenport, IA) and Cody Bryant (Davenport, IA) were recently presented with their certificates and patches for their successful completion of their ASE certification testing.

SCC President, Dr. Lyn Cochran, brought in her 1970 Chevy C-10, appropriately named "Dr. Baby" for its robin's egg baby blue paint, for the SCC Auto Collision Repair (ACR) students to enjoy. Her truck has a 350 small block engine with an Edelbrock high-rise intake, 22" Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires, Weld Racing wheels, Hurst competition shifter, and a modified fuel cell and Ford transmission in the rear for drag racing. Scott Community College Foundation is excited to share that they received notification today from The American Legion of Iowa Foundation that the college foundation will receive $2,000 again this year in support of veteran student scholarships.  This funding can be used to support two students at $1,000 each or four students at $500 each.
