The Scott Community College Foundation (SCCF) is pleased to share that they recently added two new Board of Directors to the Foundation.

Chris Lewis

Chris works as the Manager of the Machining and Tooling Supply Council with John Deere.  He has over 23 years of experience in Engineering, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management.  He is a founding member of the Quad Cities National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) professional chapter and is also the Chair of the John Deere NSBE professional organization.  Although this is Chris’ first experience with serving on a board, Chris is very ardent about education and he looks forward to serving on the SCC Foundation.

Scott Naumann

Scott is a local entrepreneur, businessman, and politician.  He started It’s a Mystery Interactive Comedy Whodonits while in college and has been writing, acting, and producing shows for 20 years.  Scott also designs phone and security surveillance systems solutions for Midland Technologies in the Quad Cities.  In 2009, Scott was elected to the Bettendorf City Council and he currently serves as the 2nd Ward Alderman.  As a board member on the SCC Foundation, Scott hopes to raise awareness in the community on ways to contribute to the college and further impact the lives and futures of students.

The Scott Community College Foundation is still seeking nominations to fill additional open seats on the Board.  The SCCF Board of Directors is a volunteer board of up to 25 members charged with the mission to provide financial resources that support student scholarships and our college community.  The board is made up of dedicated professionals who give freely of their time and expertise.  The directors take great pride in the collegiate activities and celebrate the successes of Scott Community College’s students and faculty.

In the past six years the SCCF has grown the foundation’s endowment from $1,452,309 in 2010 to $2,499,378 at year-end 2016.  In addition, the SCCF awarded out $668,192 in scholarships between 2010-2016, an average of $95,456 per year.  The Foundation hosts a signature event each Fall, the SCC BASH, which features a culinary dinner prepared by the college’s culinary arts students that raises more than $50,000 for scholarship and college programming.  The SCC BASH has become a premier event attended by more than 500 community members annually.
