ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (July 19, 2024) — Augustana College announces the selection of Reynard Benschop to serve as director of Student Activities, Leadership, and Engagement. Benschop, who previously served as associate director of student activities at Hamilton College, Clinton, New York, started at the college July 15. 

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (July 11, 2024) — Augustana College announced more than 1,100 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2023-2024 spring semester. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (July 8, 2024) — Augustana College was one of five national liberal-arts colleges in Illinois named to Money’s 2024 “Best Colleges in America” list.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (July 3, 2024) — Eighty-one Augustana College students were recognized at the Office of Career Development and Vocation's annual Viking Score Banquet on May 8.

Viking Score points are awarded to students as they complete career-readiness tasks including career exploration exercises, reflections with Career Coaches or skill-building experiences. Students who scored 100 points or more during their time at Augustana were invited to attend.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (July 2, 2024) — Nabila Saam, a Psychology, International Business-Management major from Moline, IL, (61265) is one of more than fifteen Augustana College students recently elected to serve as Student Government Association (SGA) senators. Saam was elected Sophomore Class Senator for the 2024-2025 academic year.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (July 1, 2024) — Augustana College community members are celebrating the second anniversary of President Andrea Talentino’s service to the college. Since joining the college July 1, 2022, President Talentino has spearheaded facility improvements as well as guided the college in long-range planning to ensure the college’s strong future as a nationally ranked liberal arts institution.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (June 27, 2024) Nine young apprentices from the Quad Cities have spent the past several weeks writing and shooting two original short films at Augustana College as part of the Quad City Arts’ Metro Arts Youth Apprenticeship Program. The students are under the direction of Augustana Associate Professor Stacy Barton.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (June 13, 2024) — Forty-six students at Augustana College recently were inducted into the college's Phi Beta Kappa chapter. This national academic honor society recognizes scholarly achievement, character, integrity, and independence of mind. Members are elected by faculty. Election is less a reward for past success than a recognition of exceptional promise for future growth and achievement.
