ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 22, 2023) — Augustana College senior Evan Juarez, an International business and French double major from Moline, Illinois, was nominated to submit a “More Than I Imagined” profile by Dr Kiki Kosnick, assistant professor of French.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 16, 2023) — W Kent Barnds has been named executive vice president for strategy and innovation at Augustana College. Barnds, who has served as executive vice president of external relations, will now oversee all enrollment management functions and lead the college in institutional strategic planning efforts.

The Vikings' Rocket League claimed the NECC Navigators Great Lakes conference championship with a 4-1 victory over the Lions of Finlandia University. The Vikings wrapped a successful spring season by claiming two conference championship wins and multiple runner-up finishes in the National Esports Collegiate Conference and the Eastern College Athletic Conference

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 10, 2023) Persistent problems of housing affordability, access, and security in America will be among the themes explored by Anna Reosti, a research professor at the American Bar Foundation in Chicago, when she presents the Ellwood F. Curtis Family Lecture in Public Affairs at Augustana College on Thursday, May 18.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 9, 2023) — A dozen Augustana College seniors are exhibiting their work at Wallenberg Hall at the Rock Island campus as part of the annual senior art show.

Each work is accompanied by a statement sharing the artist's perspectives and intentions. The exhibit continues through May 14. More information is available at the Augustana Center for Visual Culture.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 4, 2023) — Urban planning students from Augustana College will host a community meeting as part of a semester-long community engagement project to develop a master plan for Rock Island’s Longview Park.

Community members are invited to share their input on future plans and improvements for the park from 10:30AM-12:30PM or 5-7PM, Thursday, May 11, at the Upper Pavilion, near 18th Avenue.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 2, 2023) -- The Augustana Oratorio Society, Augustana Choir, Augustana Choral Artists and Augustana Symphony Orchestra are joining together to perform Maurice Duruflé's "Requiem, Op 9" and other choral works by French, English, and Brazilian composers. Jon Hurty and Ernesto Estigarribia will conduct the performance. The performance is May 7, 3PM, in Centennial Hall, 3703 7th Ave, Rock Island.
