DES MOINES, IOWA (June 13, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds has received word that additional assistance is now available to public and nonprofit entities in some counties impacted by severe weather between March 12 and May 16, 2019.

Thirteen counties have been added to a disaster declaration issued by President Trump on March 23, 2019, making them eligible to apply for the federal Public Assistance Program.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 13, 2019) — Earlier today, Governor Kim Reynolds participated in a roundtable at the White House to discuss workforce freedom and mobility where she was able to highlight Iowa’s strong labor market and workforce opportunities. Reynolds specifically highlighted the Future Ready Iowa Initiative, occupational licensing-reform, and how these efforts are expanding economic opportunity for Iowans.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 12, 2019) — Today, Governor Kim Reynolds announced the appointment of Helen Miller to the Iowa Parole Board, effective July 2, 2019.

“Helen is an outstanding public servant who will bring a unique perspective to the Iowa Parole Board,” said Gov Reynolds. “She will play a critical role in applying my vision for a rehabilitative justice system that offers offenders another chance to become productive and contributing members of society.”

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 7, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation today for Fremont County in response to severe weather beginning May 17 and continuing.

The governor's proclamation allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of this severe weather and activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program for qualifying residents, along with the Disaster Case Management Program, for Fremont County.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 6, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds experienced chest-pain earlier today, and out of an abundance of caution went to the emergency-room to seek medical-care. The governor was seen by a physician. Her blood tests, chest x-rays, and electrocardiogram (EKG) test were all normal. She has been released from the hospital and is back working at the Capitol.
