IOWA CITY, IOWA (October 14, 2022) — Courage Ride, a local biking event that raises funds for sarcoma cancer research, presented a check for $65,000 to the University of Iowa’s Sarcoma Research Program during an October 13 ceremony at Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (June 18, 2020) — This year’s annual Courage Ride is going virtual. Due to COVID-19, the bike-riding event, aimed at raising funds to help end Sarcoma cancer, will be held virtually from August 1-August 15 in order to protect the safety of participants. The Courage Ride was originally scheduled to be held on August 15.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (October 24, 2019) — Courage Ride, a bicycle ride that raises funds for sarcoma-cancer research, presented a check for $100,000 to the University of Iowa’s Sarcoma Research Program during an October 23 ceremony at the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. Drs Ben Millr and Munir Tanas accepted the check on behalf of the center’s Sarcoma Cancer Research Program.

 

IOWA CITY, IOWA (March 15, 2019) — Courage Ride, an annual charity bike-ride benefiting the University of Iowa’s sarcoma-cancer research, has announced it is moving this year’s start/finish venue from Iowa Mennonite School near Kalona to Big Grove Brewery and Taproom in Iowa City in an effort to attract more participants in the Corridor. The 2019 Courage Ride will be held August 17th and marks the 15th year for the event.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (March 25, 2019) — Over 200 members of the 100+ Men Who Care: Hawkeye Chapter have selected Courage Ride to receive their first philanthropy donation of 2019 at their first quarterly meeting on February 21. Courage Ride is an annual charity bike-ride that has raised over $510,000 for sarcoma-cancer research at the University of Iowa’s Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center over the past 14 years.

Courage Ride has raised over $380,000 since 2005 to help advance sarcoma research

IOWA CITY—Courage Ride, a cycling fundraiser returning for its twelfth year on August 19, has to date raised over $380,000 to advance local research of sarcoma, a rare form of cancer, and to support one of the largest sarcoma tissue banks in the Midwest.
