JOHNSTON, IOWA (June 3, 2025) — On June 2, Iowa welcomed over fifty members of the Vietnamese delegation to the Iowa State Capitol for the signing of five memoranda of understanding (MOUs) between the Vietnamese feed industry and private companies from the United States, focusing on increasing trade of U.S. grains including corn.

The plan includes adding a universal tariff of 10% on all US trading partners, effective on midnight, April 5, and roughly sixty of the US’s top trading partners will be subject to higher rates, effective on midnight, April 9.
