Craig Karges @ Augustana - September 23.

Saturday, September 23, 8 p.m.

Augustana College's Centennial Hall, 3703 Seventh Avenue, Rock Island IL

Award-winning entertainer, nationally recognized speaker, and illusionist par excellence Karges brings his comedy-magic stylings to Augustana in the latest performance in a career that has found him performing in more than 5,000 venues worldwide, including in 22 countries on four continents, and in all 50 United States.

A West Virginia native who first began dabbling in magic at age 12, Karges has made over 40 national-television appearances to date, performing his art of illusion on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Larry King Live, and even news segments on CNN. With Karges' performances traditionally featuring floating tables, the mental bending of metal, and mind-reading exercises involving the show's patrons, he's proven enormously popular on college campuses – so much so that he was named Entertainer of the Year six times by the National Association for Campus Activities.

Called “the next era in mystery entertainment” by Performance magazine, Karges received a “Best Campus Artist in the Last 25 Years” citation by Campus Activities magazine, and became only the fifth inductee into the National Campus Entertainment Hall of Fame. He also enjoys side careers as touring speaker and author, having written Ignite Your Intuition, The Wizard's Legacy: A Tale of Real Magic, and Extraordinary Tales: Stories from the Road.

Karges' September 23 Extraordinist performance begins at 8 p.m., tickets are $10, and more information and reservations are available by calling (309)794-7306 or visiting Augustana.edu.
