A chart-topping country singer/songwriter, vocal coach on TV's The Voice, and, according to People magazine, 2017's “Sexiest Man Alive” hits Moline's TaxSlayer Center on February 23 in a concert with recording phenomenon Blake Shelton, who will treat fans to hits ranging from his self-titled 2001 debut to his Texoma Shore smash from this past November.
As one of the country's most successful country artists, Shelton has sold over 10 million records worldwide, and as of 2017, has sold in excess of 30 million singles while generating 1.7 billion worldwide streams. His debut single “Austin” from 2001's platinum-selling Blake Shelton album tied the record set by Billy Ray Cyrus in 1992, staying atop the country charts for five weeks, and its success led Shelton to claim the number-one position on both Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and Top Country Singles Sales chart, making him the first debut male country artist to own the top spot on both charts simultaneously.
In 2010, “Honey Bee,” Shelton's first single from his sixth studio album Red River Blue, set a new record for the most first-week downloads by a male country singer, and made Shelton the highest-debuting male country artist on the Hot 100 since Garth Brooks debuted at number-five in 1999. As of 2017, Shelton remains one of only five country artists to have achieved number-one status on the Billboard Artist 100 chart, and in addition to his eight Grammy Award nominations, the country artist is the recipient of Shelton has been the recipient of nine Country Music Association Awards, five Academy of Country Music Awards, the CMT Artist of the Year Award, and seven CMT Music Awards. He's also a three-time People's Choice Award recipient, and his “Sexiest Man Alive” recognition makes him only the second musician – after fellow Voice coach Adam Levine – to ever receive the citation.
