Carly Pearce at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds -- August 5.

Friday, August 5, 8 p.m.

Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, 2815 West Locust Street, Davenport IA

The recent winner of four Academy of Country Music Awards – two of which, for Female Artist of the Year and Music Event of the Year, she received earlier in 2022 – singer/songwriter Carly Pearce headlines the Mississippi Valley Fair grandstand concert on August 5, the artist revered for such chart-topping Billboard smashes as “Every Little Thing,” “I Hope You're Happy Now” (with Lee Brice) and “Never Wanted to Be That Girl” (with Ashley McBryde).

Born in Taylor Mill, Kentucky, in 1990, Pearce began her career working at the Dollywood theme park before moving to Nashville at age 19. After working numerous part-time jobs and performing occasional gigs, she collaborated with the Josh Abbott Band on the 2016 single "Wasn't That Drunk," which reached number 37 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. Shortly thereafter, Pearce independently released "Every Little Thing." With the song gaining exposure after being featured on satellite radio, Pearce signed with Big Machine Records, and when it was re-released through the label, "Every Little Thing" peaked at number one on Billboard's Country Airplay chart and number five on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Pearce's debut album of the same title was released in October of 2017 and debuted at number four on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, with the recording's second single "Hide the Wine" reaching number 13 on the Country Airplay chart the following year.

In 2018, Pearce released her third single "Closer to You". The song spent nearly a year on the Billboard country charts, and later in 2019, the singer/songwriter issued the duet single with Lee Brice "I Hope You're Happy Now." Becoming a major hit on the Billboard country charts, Pearce released her self-titled second studio album in February of 2020, which debuted at number six on the Top Country Albums chart and at number 73 on the Billboard 200. Last September, Pearce released her third studio album "29: Written in Stone" featuring the lead single "Next Girl" and second single "Never Wanted to Be That Girl," the latter featuring Ashley McBryde. The album debuted at number nine on the Top Country Albums chart and was Pearce's second album to land in the Billboard 200.

Carly Pearce performs her Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds set at 8 p.m. on August 5, and $80-100 MVF Fun Cards are required for admittance into any and all Grandstand concerts this summer. For more information on the concert and the Mississippi Valley Fair, call (563)326-5338 and visit MVFair.com.
