Chris Stapleton at iWireless Center -- October 5.

Thursday, October 5, 7 p.m.

TaxSlayer Center, 1201 River Drive, Moline IL

One of the most amply rewarded performers in recent county-music history brings his “All-American Road Show” to Moline in a concert showcasing the 2016 winner of two Grammys, two Country Music Association Awards, two ASCAP Country Music Awards, and five Academy of Country Music Awards.

Born in Lexington, Kentucky, in 1978, Chris Stapleton moved to Nashville in 2001, and in 2007, became the frontman for the Steeldrivers, whose first two records each reached number-two on the Billboard bluegrass chart. After leaving the band in 2010, the singer/songwriter/guitarist consequently founded the Southern-rock band the Jompson Brothers, and in 2013, embarked on a solo career that led to his debut release Traveller, a double-platinum-seller and multiple award-winner that reached number-one on the Billboard 200 chart.

In addition to his performing career, Stapleton has written six chart-topping tunes recorded by fellow country artists, among them George Straitt's “Love's Gonna Make It Alright,” Darius Rucker's “Come Back Song,” and Kenny Chesney's “Never Wanted Nothing More,” the latter of which spent five weeks at the number-one position. His songs have also appeared on albums by recording stars such as Adele, Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, and Brad Paisley, and he's co-written with collaborators such as Vince Gill, Peter Frampton, and Sheryl Crow.

Touring in support of his 2017 album From a Room: Vol. I, Stapleton's October 5 concert at the TaxSlayer Center (as of October 1, the new name of the former iWireless Center) also features performances by guest artists Margo Price and Brent Cobb, and tickets are available by calling (800)745-3000 or visiting iWirelessCenter.com.
