Christmas with the Quad City Singers at Lavender Crest Winery -- December 8 and 9.

Friday, December 8, and Saturday, December 9, 7 p.m.

Lavender Crest Winery, 5401 U.S. Highway 6, Colona IL

Performing under the direction of Curtis Fischer-Oelschlaeger and accompanied by pianist Marcia Renaud, more than 20 of the area's top singers will blend their skills in two Christmas with the Quad City Singers concerts at Colona's Lavender Crest Winery, with the seasonal repertoire boasting classic and contemporary arrangements for soloists, specific vocal groupings, and the entire ensemble.

Since the group's beginnings in 1994, the Quad City Singers have performed a repertoire of vocal jazz, pop, and show tunes beyond their annual holiday performances. With a number of the singers also veterans of numerous Quad City Music Guild productions – among them John and Hillary Erb from this past summer's The Little Mermaid, Andy Sederquist from West Side Story, and Jennifer Sondgeroth from Sunset Boulevard – the current lineup also consists of: Nathan Bates, Colleen Callahan, Chris Castle, Tim Dominicus, Jessica Edblom, Anthony Greer, Peggy Hamilton, Holly Kennedy, J. Adam and Sarah Lounsberry, Mary Mendelin, Andy and Sheri Olson, Kevin Pieper, Joe Urbaitis, Scott Voigt, Jenny Winn, and Katherine Zerull.

Among the songs on this year's program list are a mixture of beloved standards and newer, jazz-flavored works, with the Lavender Crest repertoire including “We Three Kings,” “Sleigh Ride,” “The Wassail Song,” “Remembering Decembers,” “Infant Holy, Infant Lowly,” and a mash-up of “The Man with the Bag” and “Santa Baby.” Musician Carolyn Kellert will also be in attendance, with the Quad City Singers performing her arrangements of “In the Bleak Midwinter” and “Still, Still, Still.”

Both Christmas with the Quad City Singers evenings will feature a 6 p.m. social hour followed by the 7 p.m. concert and dinner, with this year's menu featuring pan-seared roast sirloin with peppercorn bourbon cream sauce, sweet glazed salmon, an orzo/quinoa vegetable bland, and a number of beverage and dessert options.

Reservations are due by December 1 for the December 8 and 9 concerts, tickets are $45, and more information is available by calling (309)781-7266 or visiting QuadCitySingers.org.
