Cochren & Co. at the Orpheum Theatre -- November 15.

Friday, November 15, 7:30 p.m.

Orpheum Theatre, 57 South Kellogg Street, Galesburg IL

A 2020 GMA Dive Music Award nominee as "New Artist of the Year" whose 2023 song "The Lows" scored an additional nod as "Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year," the contemporary-Christian rockers of Cochren & Co. headline a November 15 concert at Galesburg's Orpheum Theatre, their hits including the chart-topping "Running Home" and “Thank God for Sunday Morning," which was listed as one of K-LOVE’s 22 Songs that Defined 2022.

As stated at AllMusic.com, "Dove Award-nominated Christian adult-pop group Cochren & Co. give voice to the piano-based, blues-inflected songs of Michael Cochren. They made their label debut with 'Church (Take Me Back)' in 2018 and released their first long-player, Don't Lose Hope, in 2021. The group's sophomore effort, Running Home, followed in 2023. A singer, songwriter, and worship leader from Montgomery, Indiana, Cochren's influences span Billy Joel, Ray Charles, and Needtobreathe. He began touring his songs regionally as a teenager in 2011 and, adding a backing band, adopted the moniker Cochren & Co. in 2014. They were soon opening shows for the Newsboys and Jeremy Camp, among others," with the band's additional members including Michael's wife Leah Cochren, Tanner Brooks, Jake Heady, and Michael Mathis.

AllMusic.com continues, "Signing with TobyMac's Gotee Records, Cochren & Co. made their label debut in November 2018 with 'Church (Take Me Back)' and the B-side 'Grave.' The two songs were recorded in Nashville with producer/co-writer Bryan Fowler (Chris Tomlin, Rend Collective). The band followed it with 'Please Come Home for Christmas' before the end of the month. In 2019, Cochren & Co. were featured on TobyMac's 'Edge of My Seat [Thunderbird Remix],' a version of a song from the previous year's hit album The Elements. The group's 2021 debut full-length effort, the Gotee-issued Don't Lose Hope, yielded the Billboard-charting hits 'Church (Take Me Back),' 'One Day,' and 'Who Can.' 2022 saw the release of the single 'Thank God for Sunday Morning,' which appeared on 2023's Running Home." A live performance of the song "Be There For You" from the group's sophomore release was featured on Grammy.com's "Positive Vibes Only," while Cochren & Co. made their historic debut at the Grand Ole Opry on June 13, 2023.

Cochren & Co. perform their headlining engagement in Galesburg on November 15 with an additional set by Mackenzie Phillips, admission to the 7:30 p.m. concert is $31-62.20, and more information and tickets are available by calling (309)342-2299 and visiting GalesburgOrpheum.org.
