Crown Magnetar at Rozz-Tox -- June 24.

Tuesday, June 24, 6 p.m.

Raccoon Motel, 315 East Second Street, Davenport IA

With Distorted Sound magazine hailing the band as rockers who deliver "a flurry of technical flair that'll make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up," the Denver-based deathcore artists Crown Magnetar headline a June 24 concert at Davenport's Raccoon Motel, New Noise Magazine adding that when the band performs, "room for breathing is hard to come by."

As stated at AllMusic.com, "Colorado's Crown Magnetar combine unbridled intensity, brutal tempos, and virtuosic shredding to shape their distinctive and uncompromising style of technical deathcore. Founded in Colorado Springs in 2017 and featuring Dan Tucker (vocals), Grant Robinson (guitar), Nick Burnett (bass), and Byron London (drums), the band issued their debut EP, The Prophet of Disgust, in 2018. The release caught the attention of Uniqie Leader, which enthusiastically added Crown Magnetar to its roster. The full-length The Codex of Flesh appeared in 2021, with the critically acclaimed EP Alone in Death arriving the following year. The band leaned hard into their technical prowess on their sophomore long-player, 2023's Everything Bleeds, which was promoted with high-profile shows alongside contemporaries like Lorna Shore, Suicide Silence, and Chelsea Grin. Crown Magnetar continued refining and innovating on 2025's Punishment EP, which was anchored by the unrelenting single 'Barbed Wire Noose.'"

With the Crown Magnetar musicians currently enjoying some of their biggest raves for their latest recording, Dead Rhetoric raved, "Punishment takes the utter savagery that's present in the deathcore genre and gives it all of the proper proportions to make it work." Wonderbox Metal called the EP "a deathcore rager that mixes death metal intensity and hardcore dynamics to devastating effect." And Boolin Tunes raved, "Punishment is a tremendous fifth instalment of Crown Magnetar’s somewhat young careers, and yet another bucket of blood to cover their canvas of destruction and mayhem that solidifies these artists will continue to have profuse inspiration for a long time to come.

Crown Magnetar headlines their Davenport engagement on June 24, admission to the 6 p.m. concert is $21.17, and more information and tickets are available by visiting TheRaccoonMotel.com.
