“Elvis: Reflections of the King" at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts -- August 1.
Saturday, August 1, 7 p.m.
Coralville Center for the Performing Arts, 1301 Fifth Street, Coralville IA
Covering more than 20 years of the artist's musical career and recognized by Graceland as one of the top Presley tribute acts in the world, Joseph Hall brings his touring sensation Elvis: Reflections of the King to the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts on August 1, this salute to the King of Rock 'n' Roll led by the nationally lauded artist and a former competitor on America's Got Talent.
Elvis Presley is, of course, one of the best selling artists of all time, selling up to 500 million records globally. Despite the absence of his many hits during his peak years prior to October 1958 (as well as all of his top-selling albums prior to 1992), Billboard still ranks Presley as 13th on their Greatest of All Time artists list and 4th on their Greatest of All Time Hot 100 list. Music historian Joel Whitburn ranked Presley as the number-one-charting single and album artist of all time in the U.S. (both Billboard and Cashbox). Elvis' Christmas Album remains the biggest selling holiday album of all time, selling over 20 million copies worldwide. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Presley has sold 146.5 million certified albums in the U.S., making him the third top-selling album artist in the country. He also holds the record for most RIAA certified albums with 101 (44 Gold, 32 Platinum, 24 Multi-Platinum, and one Diamond) and certifications (207). As for extended play albums, he has a record 16 certified by the RIAA (six Gold, eight Platinum, and two Multi-Platinum) and 28 certifications.
Born in 1984, Joseph Hall has been paying tribute to the legacy of Elvis Presley since 2006. He starred on NBC’s America’s Got Talent in 2008, making six TV appearances viewed by more than 90 million people and placing as one of the top 10 finalists. Sharon Osbourne was impressed enough to tell him, ” I’ve got shoes older than you, but I’d like to try you on!” Also, Piers Morgan stated “Elvis is back!" Hall has performed all over the world, from Las Vegas, Nevada to Porthcawl, Wales. Joseph Hall has won many awards throughout his young career including the “Spirit of Elvis ” award. Joseph has worked with Elvis Presley Enterprises, Legends in Concert, and has officially been recognized as one of the top Elvis tribute artists in the world today. Hall completed six smashed seasons in Branson, Missouri, where Hall was named entertainer of the year for 2010. Also, Hall has won numerous contests including Tribute to the King Potawatomi Casino contest. Today, Hall continues to travel across the country “rockin and rollin” with his Elvis Tribute show.
