An acclaimed beatboxing string trio revered for its unique sound and upbeat performance style, the musicians of Infinitus perform two local concerts as Quad City Arts Visiting Artists, sharing the talents that led the Vancouver Sun to write, “It's amazing the musical concoctions these three award-winning musicians can cook up with just a violin, viola, cello, and some vocalizations.”

Infinitus was formed in 2008 by violist Anthony Cheung, cellist Alex Cheung (Anthony's twin brother), and violinist John “Adidam” Littlejohn. Collectively, the members hold degrees from the University of Michigan and the Peabody Conservatory and have won awards at local, national, and international levels, with their group credits including a recent, six-performance residency at New York's Lincoln Center.

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the trio performs regularly as part of the Vancouver Chamber Players Concert Series, and all three musicians are currently on the faculty of the Thrive City String Boot Camp, Saint James Music Academy, and Vancouver Academy of Music. While performing extensively throughout North America and conducting master classes, workshops, and seminars, Infinitus and its signature hip-hop-meets-classical stylings have been featured on CBC and National Public Radio, and has released two albums to date: Christmas Fantasia and their self-titled debut.

Admission is free for Infinitus' public concerts at the Butterworth Center on October 5 and Pleasant Valley High School on October 6, and more information on the trio and the Quad City Arts Visiting Artist series is available by calling (309)793-1213 or visiting QuadCityArts.com.
