No Duh at the Rhythm City Casino Resort Event Center -- November 23.

Friday, November 23, 8 p.m.

Rhythm City Casino Resort Event Center, 7077 Elmore Avenue, Davenport IA

Its impending area engagement sure to be the next best thing to an actual No Doubt reunion, the California-based musicians of tribute band No Duh take over the Rhythm City Casino Resort Event Center on November 23, offering a salute to Gwen Stefani and company that led BeaconStreetOnline.net to call them “awesome” and rave, “We definitely recommend checking them out.”

Formed in the mid-'00s in No Doubt's own original stomping grounds of Orange County, No Duh was conceived – as frontwoman Heather Lounsbury told the Sioux City Journal – as “sort of a drunken, haha-wouldn’t-this-be-funny kind of thing.” More than 10 years later, however, the initial joke of performing a touring tribute to No Doubt and Stefani's own discography has morphed into a legitimate phenomenon, having been highlighted on national and international TV and radio segments including CNN's Headline News, AXS TV's World's Greatest Tribute Bands, and a full-length feature on Good Morning America. Mixing the experience and energy of a live No Doubt concert complete with nostalgic visuals, costumes, props from the band's and Stefani's music videos, and loads of tongue-in-cheek humor, No Duh has even earned praise from Stefani herself, who called the band “amazing” and said of Lounsbury, “I was almost jealous of her because she was just so cute.”

Lounsbury fronts No Duh under the stage moniker “Spen Gjermani” (pronounced “spend your money”), and has also performed with members of Tower of Power, Ratt, and backup musicians for Barry Manilow and Kenny G. Three expert musicians join her on-stage: bassist EJ Curse (“Bony Yanow”), an actor from TV's Bones and Rules of Engagement whose musical collaborators have included Gene Simmons, White Lion, and Guns N' Roses' Gilby Clarke; guitarist Randy Simer (“Tom Doomee”), a frontman for The Seventh who has performed with John Tesh and Southern California's Copperhill; and drummer Rodney Pino (“Aintso Young”), who previously played with Love Hate, Silent Rage, and Hollywood Hot Rod. And in addition to smash hits such as “Don't Speak,” “Just a Girl,” “Hey Baby” and “Hella Good,” No Duh also neaks other artists into their nightly mix, paying tribute to everything from Blondie's “Call Me” to Sublime's “What I Got” to the Beatles classic “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da.”

No Duh's November 23 concert in the Davenport venue's Event Center starts at 8 p.m., admission is $15, and more information and tickets are available by calling (844)852-4386 or visiting RhythmCityCasino.com.
