Pullstring at the Raccoon Motel -- December 6.

Saturday, December 6, 6 p.m.

Raccoon Motel, 315 East Second Street, Davenport IA

Minneapolis-based alt-rock and power-pop musicians who inspired Good Music Radar to rave that their "flow is maintained as a sacrosanct part of their passion for music," the Pullstring quartet headlines a December 6 concert at Davenport's Raccoon Motel, The Other Side Reviews adding that "Pullstring explores human vulnerability and fragility in a heart-aching but simultaneously heart-warming way."

Over the past few years since their album debut All I Know Is What I've Seen, Pullstring – composed of vocalist/guitarist Alex Fuller, bassist/vocalist Eric Braun, guitarist/pianist Josh Toke, and drummer/percussionist Will Keebler – has gone on tours and played to packed venues around the Midwest, among them 7th St Entry, Turf Club, and the Maintenance Shop. The musicians have appeared on festival lineups such as Eau Claire Fall Fest, KURE Fest, and Northwoods Rock Rally, and Pullstring has opened for large touring acts such as ALEXSUCKS, George Clanton, The Melismatics, and We Are Scientists. As stated at PuttstringBand.com, the group's "brand of nostalgic Alt Rock and Power Pop is reminiscent of the '90s and 2000s artists they grew up listening to, such as Green Day and their hometown favorites, The Replacements. Pullstring explores the struggles and realities of being a young adult in the 2020s, the highs and lows, the victories and defeats. We’re all just trying to find our place in the world, come along and join us for the ride."

Among Pullstring's raves, Langen Goldstien of Girl at Rock Shows stated, "With heartfelt lyrics, a sense of professionalism, and a sense of passion that radiated from the stage, I found myself wanting to move closer and closer to the stage with every song that they played. I just loved that Pullstring could show multiple sides of their craft while keeping the energy and passion high. On top of it all, it was truly flawless. Pullstring has something that I feel a lot of bands only dream of, and that is sheer perfection when it comes to playing together as a cohesive band."

Meanwhile, reviewing the band's "When It Began," Ear to the Ground's Greg Jones raved, ""The up tempo energy of this track is quintessential indie rock; the chord changes on the chorus feel like they were probably first jammed out in a garage session. We mean that with the highest praise! The song feels like it has a gritty, rooted style to it. The vocals remind me a bit of what I first liked about Thrice’s Dustin Kensrue. I really appreciate the 'don’t let life pass you by' line. There’s a lot of that going on with people merely enduring life; this song reminds us to live with joy and vibrancy. The expressive and energetic guitar solo accentuates the 'seize the day' sentiment of the track."

Pullstring headlines their Davenport engagement on December 6 with additional sets by Company Dimes and Display Case, admission to the 6 p.m. concert is $15.88, and more information and tickets are available by visiting TheRaccoonMotel.com.
