Crowder, September 3 at LeClaire Park

Sunday, September 3, 7 p.m.

LeClaire Park, 400 Beiderbecke Drive, Davenport IA

With this year's annual festival themed “A Night to Honor Our Heroes,” the 2017 QC Festival of Praise will benefit wounded soldiers and America's Gold Star families through proceeds to the Military Warriors Support Foundation, and will boast a headlining performance by Christian “folktronica” musician Crowder.

A native Texan born David Wallace Crowder, the musician spent 1996 to 2012 as frontman for the Grammy-nominated David Crowder Band, a six-piece Christian-rock ensemble that released 16 singles through six studio albums and two live albums, and that won eight GMA Dove Awards out of 18 nominations. After the group disbanded, Crowder released his solo-album debut Neon Steeple in the spring of 2014, which led to the single “I Am” charting at number-three on Billboard's Christian Songs chart and “Come As You Are” securing a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. Released less than a year ago, Crowder's follow-up album American Prodigal – like Neon Steeple – rose to the number-one spot on Billboard's charts.

Crowder performs locally with an opening set by the JJ Weeks Band, and the 2017 QC Festival of Praise will also feature dance and flag ensembles, food vendors, and more. Tickets are $25 at the gate, and more information is available by visiting QCFestivalOfPraise.com.
