Selina Albright at the Redstone Room -- February 10.

Saturday, February 10, 7:30 p.m.

The Redstone Room, 129 Main Street, Davenport IA

Great Sounds Promotions and Davenport's Redstone Room will treat music lovers to a special Valentine's-weekend event on February 10, when the 14th annual Smooth Jazz Valentine's Concert is headlined by acclaimed R&B and jazz vocalist Selina Albright, lauded by The Hollywood Times for her “stylish nod to jazz with a really identifiable sound.”

The daughter of legendary jazz saxophonist Gerald Albright, Selina developed her onstage charisma and vocal technique from being exposed to legendary artists such as Whitney Houston, Ella Fitzgerald, Beyoncé, and Tina Turner, and has been showcased in her father's Grammy-nominated projects that have included “Live To Love,” and “Slam Dunk.” She also wrote the lyrics and performed the title track for Gerald's Grammy-nominated “24/7,” was featured on Peter White's 2016 release "Groovin'," and make a special appearance on Jarez's 2017 record "Blow Your Mind."

Selina's 2013 release "Brighter" topped the UK Soul Chart for four weeks, and her 2010 jazz original "You and I" was featured on iTunes' "Top 100 Downloads" list. Meanwhile, her 2017 R&B project "Conversations” – featuring the chart-topping singles "Eat Something (feat. Kay-Ta Matsuno)" and "Possible” – received rapturous critical acclaim. TheSmoothJazzRide.com wrote, “Albright brings her brand of fiery, soul-reaching music right where you live, keeping you riveted to her charm,” while Smooth Jazz Therapy called her “one of the brightest new stars in that crossover galaxy somewhere between contemporary jazz and R&B.”

Tickets to the Smooth Jazz Valentine's Concert are $35 for general admission and $45 for VIP seating, and Selina Albright's concert will be preceded by a set with the Quad Cities musicians of Craig Heidgerken & Friends.
