Soultru, Durow, Jantzonia, & Nightcaps Improv Comedy at the Redstone Room -- September 25.

Thursday, September 25, 8 p.m.

The Redstone Room, 129 Main Street, Davenport IA

Delivering a genre-melding evening of hip hop, alternative rock, and big laughs, Davenport's Redstone Room will host a quartet of excitingly disparate acts on September 25, the Common Chord venue treating audiences to the music of Soultru, Durow, and Jantzonia, plus a set with the local comedians of Nightcaps Improv Comedy.

Soultru blends soulful singing with elements of hip-hop and rap, creating relatable music for a wide audience. His versatile ability allows him to explore different styles, evident in songs ranging from acoustic love songs to catchy tunes that switch between melodic singing and rap flows. His musical upbringing included exposure to gospel music and artists like The Temptations, Fred Hammond, and Smokie Norful. He also found inspiration in artists such as John Legend, Gavin DeGraw, and the writing styles of blue-eyed soul artists like Allen Stone and James Morrison.

Soultru has opened for a diverse range of artists including Ceschi Ramos, Adeem The Artist, Magic City Hippies, and Michigan Rattlers. He has also performed at events like Sofar Sounds and with a full band at venues like the Adler Theatre, Festivals such as Mile of Music Festival, Des Moines Arts Festival, Juan De Fuqua Festival Port Angeles Washington 2025 and many more. He is signed with The Record Machine, a Kansas City-based label. In Fall 2020, he released an acoustic EP titled The Truth, and is currently working on an LP scheduled for release in 2025. Soultru’s music often focuses on themes of love, hardship, and following one’s dreams, drawing from his personal experiences growing up in Davenport, Iowa. He hopes his music can inspire others to pursue their own happiness and goals in life.

Alexander Steven Durow was born 04/04/1998 to Nancy and Steven. A child of teachers, they quickly saw his inclination towards rhythm and melody, as he banged on pots and pans like drums as soon as he could hold a spoon. He asked to learn the piano at the age of seven, and began singing in choir in third grade. His first song was about seeing a lake, and he remembers it to this day. He spends his entire life creating, mostly in the form of music and the art of sounds. A self taught electronic artist as well, he began using FL Studios at the age of 13, and Logic Pro X at 19. He became a full time audio engineer to pay the up-front cost of starting a solo music career. Now, at the age of 26, Durow is a full time singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, audio engineer/producer, and touring artist. With over three million streams across platforms, multiple A-list placement openings, a litany of headlining events, multiple successful public releases, and plans for much, much bigger, Durow sees the future and is here to create, share, and experiment- forever a child of the art of sound.

Jantzonia is a musical artist from Grand Forks, North Dakota. Coming from such a unclaimed land, Jantz has been focusing on giving his listeners anthems that they can call their own. He has associated acts with hundreds of artists from the Midwest area and many national acts. He is also part of the Zen People, a collective of artists that reach all branches of hip-hop. They've traveled across the country on multiple tours presenting their craft, which make their live performances something people never forget. While not on the stage, Jantzen spends most of his time recording. He is constantly updating and progressing with musical projects, making sure it is beyond the peak of his capability. He likes to think of his music as documented life.
