The Guess Who at Rhythm City Casino Resort -- February 10.

Saturday, February 10, 8 p.m.

Rhythm City Casino Resort Event Center, 7077 Elmore Avenue, Davenport IA

On February 10, one of the most successful and enduring bands in North American history takes the stage at the Rhythm City Casino Resort, when the chart-topping rockers of The Guess Who treat fans to hits from the group's five-decade repertoire that include “These Eyes,” “Share the Land,” and the iconic “American Woman.”

Inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1987, The Guess Who started out as a local Winnipeg band formed by singer/guitarist Chad Allan in 1958 and initially called Allan & the Silvertones, which became Chad Allan & the Expressions in 1965. The ensemble had a number-one hit in Canada that year with “Shakin' All Over,” and after Allan left the outfit in 1966, the band released It's Time as the debut album from the newly titled The Guess Who?. That question mark would be gone by 1969, the same year that the band became official superstars in both Canada and the United States through the success of chart-topping hits “No Time” and “Laughing,” and the following year would see The Guess Who's legend sealed with the release of “American Woman,” “Share the Land,” and “No Sugar Tonight.”

Nearly 50 years later, founding member and original drummer and songwriter Garry Peterson still tours with the band, and The Guess Who's Rhythm City concert will find the artist performing alongside legendary bass player Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake), lead vocalist and guitarist Derek Sharp, lead guitarist Will Evankovich, and keyboard player and flutist Leonard Shaw. "You're going to see an excellent version of the songs and hear exactly how they should sound or be played," says Peterson. "We're coming at a new generation of fans who are seeing how the band can execute with enthusiasm. And we're also making sure the respect level remains at an all time high for how the music was initially recorded and remains at an all time high for the fans who have been with the band from the beginning."

Tickets for the 8 p.m. February 10 show are $25-55, and more information on The Guess Who's local concert are available by visiting RhythmCityCasino.com.
