Lauded by DanDenney.com as artists who “possess a haunting quality laced with a yearning that mirrors the fragility of human connection,” the country-folk musicians of The Band Loula headline an August 26 concert at Davenport's Raccoon Motel, the group's 2025 debut EP Sweet Southern Summer hailed by Soundlink Magazine as “everything I want country music to be – raw, honest, haunting, and full of heart.”

His 2024 album Honky Tonk Ain't Noise Pollution praised by Metal Planet Music as “a damned fine slice of good ol' country music” that'swell-written, well-played, well-sung, and very well-produced,” Ellis Bullard headlines an August 27 concert at davenport's Raccoon Motel, the artist also lauded by Saving Country Music for “making country music that actually sounds country, while also making it cool.”

Rod had invited us to hang out with his co-founder Matt Friesz and each of their sons who had joined the [Burnt McMelba] Toast band this year to hear them rehearse for two gigs in August. He wanted us to learn more about how Toast was not having a reunion. The band was having a revival with second-generation blood and new variations on past themes.

With this year's musical guests including Nina Nicole Little, the Pippi & Daniel Music Experience, and Erech Bruce, Polyrhythms proudly presents the 12th-annual Bill Bell Jazz & Heritage Festival at Rock Island's Martin Luther King Center and neighboring MLK Park, an August 21 and 22 celebration of cultural heritage in the Quad Cities named after the late musician, educator, and East Moline native lovingly known as “The Jazz Professor.”

Composed of bandleader Garrett Dutton on lead vocals, guitar, and harmonica, Chuck Treece on drums, and Jim Prescott on string bass, the touring talents of G. Love & Special Sauce headline an August 22 concert at Maquoketa's Codfish Hollow Barn, the group's hit songs including such Billboard charters as “Stepping Stones,” “Rodeo Clowns,” “Astronaut,” “Go Crazy,” and “Peace, Love, & Happiness.”

With his most recent album Texas to Tennessee hailed by Album of the Year as “a fun, lighthearted, and breezy country-pop project from one of neotraditional country's most underrated '90s artists,” the chart-topping Texan Clay Walker brings his "Doin' What I Love Tour 2026" to Davenport's Rhythm City Casino Resort Event Center on August 14, the artist having debuted six chart-topping hits and a dozen acclaimed studio albums over a career of more than three decades.
