Resource Fair, Panel Discussion, Keynote Address from Paralympian and Veteran at Veterans Conference Wednesday at St. Ambrose

DAVENPORT, Iowa —St. Ambrose University will host the 2017 Eastern Iowa/Western Illinois Veterans Conference beginning at noon on March 1 at the Rogalski Center.

The event will include a Resources Fair, a panel discussion on the transition from military service to civilian life featuring veterans and spouses, as well as a keynote address by Brad Snyder, a Navy veteran who lost his vision in combat in Afghanistan and since has won seven medals as a Paralympian swimmer.

The annual conference is hosted by the St. Ambrose Office for Veterans Recruitment and Services in partnership with Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, Black Hawk College and Western Illinois University Quad Cities.

Schedule:

· 12:00-12:40: Resource Fair and Registration

· 12:45-1:00: Welcome/Opening Ceremony

· 1:00-2:15: Panel of Mixed Perspectives: "Service and Sacrifice on Two Fronts"

· 2:15-2:30: Break with refreshments and light snacks

· 2:30-3:30: Keynote with Brad Snyder

· 3:45-4:15: Book signing*/Meet and Greet and Resource Fair re-opens
