ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 4, 2021) — The Rock Island Arsenal Defense Alliance (RIADA) announced their legislative priorities for this year which build off the tremendous successes achieved over the past several years that help to align the activities at Rock Island Arsenal with the National Defense Strategy and Army modernization priorities.

“The Rock Island Arsenal Defense Alliance is dedicated to preserving and growing one of our region’s top employers, the Rock Island Arsenal,” said Scott Lohman, Lohman Companies and chair of RIADA. “Advocating for these priorities will help further RIA’s position in supporting our nation’s defense and our region’s economy.”

This year’s priorities include:

  • Innovation at the Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence;
  • Sustaining workload at RIA-JMTC;
  • Support sustaining missions for Rock Island Arsenal headquarters commands (including Army Sustainment Command, First Army, Joint Munitions and US Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island District) and other components to include the RIA’s fastest growing organization, the North Central Region of the Civilian Human Resources Agency (CHRA);
  • Support adequate facilities and resiliency on Rock Island Arsenal; and
  • Support further investment in workforce development and enhancement opportunities for defense manufacturing communities.
