Illinois Woman Claims Top Prize In ‘Holiday Season Bingo’ Scratch Game

CLIVE, Iowa – A $25,000-winning scratch ticket was sold recently in Davenport.

Mechelle Woolison of Rock Island, Ill. said she received some Iowa Lottery scratch tickets as a holiday gift and one of those tickets ended up winning a big prize.

Woolison claimed the third of seven top prizes of $25,000 available in the lottery’s “Holiday Season Bingo” scratch game. The winning ticket was sold at Sara Mini Mart, 1026 W. River Drive in Davenport.

“I checked the numbers like three times,” Woolison told lottery employees as she claimed her prize Tuesday at the lottery’s regional office in Cedar Rapids. “Then I asked my partner to check it and she checked it like three times.”

The 45-year-old said she’s an occasional lottery player and was still in disbelief when she claimed her prize from the lottery.

“It’s not going to be real until I get the money in my hand,” she said.

Woolison said she plans to use her lottery winnings to help pay for a kitchen remodeling project as well as pay some bills.

Holiday Season Bingo is a $2 scratch game. More details about how to play this game, and number of prizes still up for grabs in it can be found on the Iowa Lottery’s website, www.ialottery.com.
