The Edison Junior High School Leadership Squad, a 4-H Club through the University of Illinois Extension and the 21st Century - Lights ON For Learning programs will be helping to decorate the Milan Animal Shelter on Monday, December 3rd from 3:00-4:00 p.m.  The students will also be bringing toys they made to the shelter. 

Keep Iowa Beautiful will award five $1,000 scholarships to Iowa high school seniors in 2019. "Year in and year out, gift cards are continually the most requested presents during the holiday season," said Fitzgerald. "Each year, gift cards go unused because the cards are lost or forgotten.

Thanks to the combined efforts of the St. Ambrose University Occupational Therapy and Physician’s Assistant students and faculty, as well as the staff and volunteers at Spring Forward, more than 50 adults and children from all walks of life will share a meal and celebrate diversity.  The traditional Thanksgiving feast is being held on Thursday, November 15th at 6:00 pm at the Church of Peace in Rock Island.
