Most gardeners across the country are thinking... it’s December... gardening season is over. No so fast. There’s still plenty of tasks for gardeners to do in December, which will make springtime a welcomed breeze.

In 1953, The Moline Foundation was founded during the month of November thanks to a gift of over $3.8 Million in today’s dollars from the estate of Robert K.

The 40th Anniversary celebration continues for the Machine Shed, and they are pleased to announce that their new cookbook will be available for purchase on Black Friday.

This holiday season, many Iowans will buy and give gift cards. State Treasurer Michael L. Fitzgerald wants Iowa consumers to make sure they take full advantage of their gift cards. "Year in and year out, gift cards are continually the most requested presents during the holiday season," said Fitzgerald. "Each year, gift cards go unused because the cards are lost or forgotten.

Thanks to the combined efforts of the St. Ambrose University Occupational Therapy and Physician’s Assistant students and faculty, as well as the staff and volunteers at Spring Forward, more than 50 adults and children from all walks of life will share a meal and celebrate diversity.  The traditional Thanksgiving feast is being held on Thursday, November 15th at 6:00 pm at the Church of Peace in Rock Island.

During the annual Thanksgiving Day festivities, State Treasurer Michael L. Fitzgerald knows his office has a bounty of its own and the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt could provide one more reason to give thanks. "I encourage everyone to visit GreatIowaTreasureHunt.gov to look for their lost treasure," said Fitzgerald. "Those who take the time to search the list may find they have one more thing to be thankful for. Anyone may find money they never knew they were owed."
